Steamed Eggs with Chicken Essence

Whenever I feel lethargic, I will drink a bottle of chicken essence. You will instantly feel an energy boost. No kidding! So I had this idea of adding Chicken Essence to Steamed Eggs.

Chicken essence is believed to restore energy, support recovery, and improve concentration. Adding it to steamed eggs not only makes it extra nutritious but also adds more flavour and gives the eggs an even silkier, softer texture.

This dish is quick to prepare, soothing and warm on the stomach, and feels so nourishing. Hope you’ll give it a try when you need something simple yet revitalising.

Ingredients 材料:
2 eggs, room temperature 2个鸡蛋室温
200 ml (1 bottle chicken essence + water, room temperature) 200毫升(1瓶鸡精 + 水,室温)
1/8 teaspoon salt 1/8茶匙盐

Fragrant sauce 香酱:
3 tablespoon vegetable oil 3汤匙植物油
3 shallots, 3 cloves garlic 3小洋葱/3瓣大蒜
1 tablespoon light soy sauce 1汤匙生抽
1 sprig spring onion 1 枝葱

Method:

  1. Add salt to chicken essence. Set aside.

  2. Gently beat the egg. Then add chicken essence mixture.

  3. Mix well. Then use a sift and pour into a heatproof bowl.

  4. Add water to a wok/steamer and bring to a boil.

  5. Place the egg mixture on the steamer rack. Close the lid. Tilt the lid slightly.

  6. Steamed on low heat from 10-15 minutes. It’s done when the egg mixture is not runny.
